And the good stuff keeps on coming!

Alrighty...

On Saturday morning my cousin Karen and I tagged teamed ticketmaster and are now the proud owners of MADONNA TICKETS!!! In October I'll be headed for Toronto for a long weekend of awesome with Karen and our other cousin Lori, including hitting some very cool yarn shops (Lori, who lives in TO casually mentions Lettuce Knit as her LYS. Casually..as in "I think it's called Lettuce Knit?" and at my OMG! says "Oh, have you heard of it?"). I'm not sure which part I'm more excited about; the yarn shopping, or the concert which is a childhood dream, or the fact that I'll be going BY MYSELF. Free of mommy duties for a whole weekend. Awesome.

After we got the tickets I packed my littles in the van and we rode out to see Deb, where our children entertained each other and we knit and chatted away the rest of the day. I came away with quite a few things; Deb dug around and came up with some donations of knit items for Bryony House (we're collecting during the WWKIP event) and also donated some personal care items on behalf of her husband's store. I also borrowed some books and was gifted a couple pairs of socks from her bins (yep, plural) of handknit socks. They are smooshy and wonderful and knit by not a only a very talented lady, but she's also one of my most favourite people. Thanks again Deb!

But wait, there is more!

Today the mail carrier buzzed and announced he had a parcel for me. I got it, expecting it to be the next installment of the Seven Deadly Spins club, or maybe an early delivery of the cafe press gear for WWKIP.

I read the return address and it said it was from Texas. I said to Phil "I have no idea what this is." He says "Are we seriously at a point where you're now ordering so much that you FORGET that you've ordered it?" My response of "I don't think so" was less than reasurring.

I open it up and find

my package from the Scavenger Hunt Swap!

My original sender disappeared on me, but I had a lot of fun putting together my parcel so I honestly was not that upset. But the hostess found me an amazing angel, who went above and beyond!!

The point of the Scavenger Hunt swap was to collect items according to certain categories. In this parcel I received: For Something Local, the Persephone Bag pattern, designed by at Texas artist. The Spoiler's Choice went along with this, she included 4 balls of Rowan Big Wool in green (yummy shade, I love it!) to make it. For Something Round I got two balls of Rowan Cashsoft DK in a pretty baby blue, to make into BMG'S Footies, which was a my Something Funny along with a word search book. Something Green was a green take-out box with a row counter (this one has a lock, which is awesome because my other one always gets clicked in my bag), point protectors, and a needles case, all green! Also had a Stix Fix, for repairing wooden and bamboo needles and a bottle of Eucalan. My Something Hard was a lovely hardcover journal. Finally Something Starting with "T": A "Time Out"...White Tea relaxing bath tea, a make-your-own candle kit, and some really tasty looking Chocolate Caramel Coffee (if I hadn't already drank half a pot of coffee today, I'd brew some of this right now!). She also included some toys for my kitties, chalk for my kiddoes and some chocolate that I can share or not.

Thank you so much Lisa, it's awesome!

You know, I'm actually sort of excited to go to bed tonight to see what tomorrow is going to bring!

I'm so glad that it finally made it there and that you like it. I had so much fun getting things for you. I liked the Time Out for you, because I know how precious and rare that time can be. I can't wait to see the finished bag!

You sure did send out a great swap. ;^)
I'm still laughing at the chicken markers, The knitpicks has been swatched for casting on, and Mingus is looking for yarn!
